India’s 100 brightest underprivileged students to study at Sitare Foundation
Majority of selected applicants out of 73,000 applicants from public schools
New Delhi, July 7, 2022: With over 300 million K-12 students in India, talented students from low-income and minority households need differentiated and inclusive learning opportunities. Sitar Foundation, a pan-Indian educational NGO that strives to transform the lives of underprivileged children by empowering them to access education, today announced the results of its Annual entrance exams 2022. The foundation selected around 100 students from the 73,000 applications received during the entrance exams held in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhopal and Indore.
The majority of these selected students come from public schools and their families earn less than Rs 25,000 per month. To be selected into the foundation’s program, children must undergo an extremely comprehensive assessment process that includes an entrance exam, followed by a two-week educational camp to test the children’s performance in the classroom and a thorough check. antecedents.
Led by philanthropic couple Shilpa and Amit Singhal, the Sitare Foundation strives to provide high quality education to underprivileged children from impoverished backgrounds. Since its inception, the foundation has consistently strived to identify and nurture talented students, especially from the financially backward and marginalized sections of society. Five students from the first batch of the foundation have obtained several admissions in prestigious American universities

With more than four hundred students currently enrolled in its program, the Sitare Foundation is successfully progressing towards its mission of “transform 50,000 lives through education by 2050”. The foundation strongly believes that after completing their seven-year program, Sitare Scholars will shine like stars and inspire millions in their own communities.
