Japanese government panel authorizes Moderna COVID vaccine for booster shots
TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s health ministry said on Wednesday its expert panel had agreed Moderna Inc’s COVID-19 vaccines could be used for booster shots, paving the way for formal government approval .
Japan began giving boosters this month with vaccines from Pfizer Inc.
The panel agreed Moderna vaccines could be used on people aged 18 or older for booster shots, the ministry said. The same age limit is applied to Pfizer vaccines for booster shots.
