The Japanese government’s Covid care package. Posted by FriedCheeseCurdz on Reddit.

The large carton provided by the Japanese government included packets of Japanese noodles, bottles of water, rice, cans of tuna, and other drinks and refreshments.

Redditors are very impressed with the Japanese government after a user shared a photo of the Covid care package he received during his quarantine period. Reddit user FriedCheeseCurdz shared a post on the “Mildly Interesting” subreddit over the weekend where they revealed how much food they received during quarantine. Sharing the post on the social media platform, the user wrote in the caption, “Japanese government is sending home quarantined individuals free healthcare packages.” The photo shows the amount of food and other essential items the government has sent to a person. The large carton included packets of Japanese noodles, bottles of water, rice, cans of tuna, and other drinks and refreshments. In the comments, the user explained how he ended up receiving the package. Sharing his experience of quarantining in Tokyo, the user wrote, “I tested positive for Covid a few days ago. Every morning I get a phone call asking me to update how I feel that day regarding temperature, symptoms and oxygen levels.

The Redditor also added: “They asked me if I wanted to stay in a hotel which I declined since I live alone. They then asked me if I wanted food sent to my house which I accepted (it was free). However, what surprised the user was the awesome care package he received. “This care package was not what I was looking for. was expecting, though. I don’t know if it’s the same as what others who tested positive in Tokyo received.”

The Japanese government is sending free health care packages to home-quarantined individuals! Shown is for 1 person (me) in Tokyo. moderately interesting

Users were very impressed with the range of food items sent by the Japanese government. The post also prompted a few others to compare how certain countries care for their sick citizens.

One comment read: ‘When my family in North America tested positive, they got nothing. Not even info. I had to tell them to get an oxygen monitor (luckily they were able to get one delivered within hours). It’s mind blowing how different countries treat their people differently during this pandemic, and it really affects the basic beliefs/knowledge people have as a community about the virus. They are fundamentally completely different realities.
