Japanese government’s generous Covid-19 care package impresses netizens: ‘Should move to Tokyo’
A Reddit post showing a photo of the care package received from the Japanese government while a person was in quarantine after testing positive for Covid is going viral. The image of the generous care program garnered thousands of upvotes and sparked discussion on the awareness program from governments around the world.
In the now viral post, the person who goes by the username FriedCheeseCurdz wrote, “I tested positive for covid a few days ago. Every morning I get a phone call asking me to update how I feel that day regarding temperature, symptoms and oxygen levels. They asked me if I wanted to stay in a hotel, which I declined as I live alone. They then asked me if I wanted food sent to my house, which I agreed to (it was free). This care package was not what I expected, however. I don’t know if it’s the same as what others who tested positive in Tokyo received. »
The care package he received contained noodles, chips, ramen, chocolate and other snacks. Impressed by the state’s free care, one user commented, “I look at this and think ‘fuck, I should move to Tokyo and get COVID’.”
For those saying “there’s not much more the US government can do”, look at what someone in Japan receives when they test positive for COVID so they can recover and self-isolate.
We need to push our leaders to do more and stop making excuses for their inaction. pic.twitter.com/IO3EYtXCyf

This is not the first time that people have appreciated the wide variety of things sent by the government. The Japanese government’s care program unboxing videos were made and shared last year as Covid cases peaked in the second wave. Here is one of those videos:
Convince me that I should just move to Japan.

As the world tightens Covid safety protocols again, people must follow quarantine rules upon returning from travel or test positive for Covid. Although the rules are more or less the same everywhere, the response of governments varies from country to country.
